By Patrick Colbeck

September 17th is recognized as Constitution Day. On September 17th, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was adopted. All Americans are encouraged to honor Constitution Day today by taking some time to read and study our U.S. Constitution.

“Every member of the State ought diligently to read and to study the constitution of his country, and teach the rising generation to be free. By knowing their rights, they will sooner perceive when they are violated, and be the better prepared to defend and assert them.”

-John Jay, Founding Father and 1st Chief Justice of US Supreme Court.
